Texture of raw oats crisper and easier to chew, while after it is cooked, the texture becomes thick and sticky. For this reason, many people choose as raw oat mixture until pudding smoothie. But, really secure is eating raw oats?
Oat indeed can be a healthy snack that is filling, due to their high protein and fiber. Oats also became one of the easy breakfast menu which makes it that makes you feel full throughout the morning.
Unfortunately, raw oat meal is not a healthy choice, because raw oats are not safe because they contain phytic acid.
Phytic acid content which is found in wheat, grains and nuts that can interfere with the absorption of important minerals such as calcium, zinc, and iron, preventing your body from being able to absorb them.
So if you eat too much phytic acid, you can have problems with mineral deficiency.
But dietitians Stephanie Clarke, RD, and Willow Jarosh, RD, of C & J Nutrition says, even though raw oats do contain high phytic acid, soak the oats overnight in lukewarm water will remove the levels.
Soak oats also help to break down the starch, making it more digestible oat. Makes you not bloated than cooking oats itself.
So, consuming raw oats that have been soaked overnight is safe, easy to digest, and the right choice for the diet because of complex carbohydrates and fiber to fill you up.
